SUITLAND, Md. (WUSA) -- Prince George's County Police have ruled a death investigation a homicide after the medical examiner found the cause of death to be strangulation on Saturday.
On Jan. 11, at about 6:45 a.m. Prince George's County Police were called to a home, located in the 2200 block of Wyngate Rd. in Suitland, Md., for reports of a fight, police said.
Once there police found 34-year-old Jamal Rami Martin with trauma to his body and was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
Prince George's Co. Police identified 43-year-old Leon Antauwn Wynn as the person of interest and shared his name and vehicle information with DC Police.
That same day, DC Police spotted Wynn's car and arrested him on unrelated charges in the District, police said.
According to Prince George's Co. Police, Wynn admitted to his involvement to the death of Martin who was a family friend.
He is now being charged with second degree murder and other charges. Wynn will be extradited to Prince George's County at a later date.
