WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA)-- As part of an experiment to demonstrate how easily virus causing germs spread we used a germ simulator product called Glo Germ. 

It's a lotion that glows under UV light. It isn't a real bacteria but if it were it allows the naked eye to see how easy the germs are transferred. 

University of Maryland microbiologist Dr. Vincent Lee said these germs are everywhere and they are almost exclusively transferred through touch. 

Dr. Lee said, "It's extremely easy to accidentally pass what you have from your own body to a surface that then is touched by someone else."

According to him thats exactly how the current flu that is attacking our country has managed to spread so fast.
