WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- In the past two years, Prince George's County resident Delores Browder has traveled nearly 6,000 miles taking 34 local cancer patients, who otherwise couldn't get there, to treatment.
As a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society Road To Recovery, she uses her own car and foots the gas bill.
"I don't know about others, but for me it's satisfying to know that I'm helping someone," Browder said of a breast cancer survivor in an interview with WUSA9's Andrea Roane. "I'm helping her...possibly to see another birthday."
It's a fantastic story and Andrea Roane will have it in Wednesday's 5:30 a.m. newscast.
She'll also let you know how you can volunteer for Road to Recovery, just like Delores.
