WASHINGTON (WUSA)-- While many people may be rushing back to the malls to return unwanted holiday gifts one piece of merchandise in particular will surely not be seeing its way back on to a store rack anytime soon.
Washington Redskins Quarterback Robert Griffin III's jersey has officially become the most popular jersey of any professional football player since the NFL began keeping track 6 years ago according to a league spokesperson.
Locally stores are having a difficult time keeping enough of the jersey's in stock. The Redskins store at the Montgomery Mall in Bethesda says they recently received a new shipment, but they expect the jersey's will soon fly off the racks and leave them dry.
The RG3 jersey has sold and continues to sell better than that of Broncos QB Peyton Manning, Cowboys star Tony Romo, and even NFL great Brett Favre.
