Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The less popular rookie started the game for the Washington Redskins against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday,
Kirk Cousins made his first NFL start for the Redskins, while veteran Rex
Grossman is the backup.
Cousins was 25/36 with 2 TD and an INT.
The Redskins beat the Browns 38-21.
Griffin practiced all week and was listed as questionable on Friday's injury
report, but was declared out on Saturday. He said on Twitter that the decision
"was not my own."
Cousins took over last week against Baltimore after Griffin sustained a Grade
I sprain of the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee during the
eventual game-tying drive in the fourth quarter of Washington's 31-28 overtime
