WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) - DC police confirmed Tuesday night that the man who committed suicide on Long Island is the bus shooting suspect Javon Steven Foster.
9News received video from WCBS in New York of the scene in Long Island where authorities believed Javon Foster killed himself on Monday.
Foster was the suspect in the shooting death of a mother who was boarding a bus on Sunday evening. Selina Brown, 20, was getting on the bus near Minnesota Ave. and 19th St when she was fatally shot. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brown, of Northeast D.C., was with her 2-year-old daughter who was also injured in the attack, grazed by a bullet. The child was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
The bus driver also suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Police issued a warrant on Monday for Javon Steven Foster in the death of Brown. Foster was believed to be the boyfriend of the victim and the father of her child.
