WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- You can help choose the new look of DC's taxi cabs.
D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray and DC Taxicab Commission Chairman Ron Linton unveiled four possible color schemes( yellow/green, yellow/white, black/red, red/white) for the fleet at the Verizon Center on Monday. The District is trying to pick one color as part of upgrades outlined in the Taxicab Modernization Act.
The public can give feedback about the color schemes on the DCTC website soon: http://dctaxi.dc.gov/. If you want to see the possible colors in person, the vehicles will be at the Verizon Center until January 7, 2013 when they will move to Union Station.
There's a social media component to the proposed colors. D.C. officials say you can weigh in using the hashtag #votedctaxi on Twitter.
The selection process will also include a public hearing and meetings with DCTC. The final recommendations are expected in the spring.
