BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WUSA) -- Baltimore County Police say one of their off-duty officers was shot will driving through a neighborhood early Monday morning.
Police say the investigation shows that the victim, later identified as an off-duty police officer, was driving in the area of Dale and Kenwood Ave. at around 3 a.m. when he encountered a large group blocking the street.
The victim stopped and asked the crowd to move so he could pass. A male stepped out of the crowd with a gun and shot several times at the victim's car -- striking him twice, police say.
The victim was sent to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The officers identify is not being released at this time. He has been released from the hospital.
