LEWISDALE, Md. (WUSA) -- A man has been arrested and charged in the murder of 14-year-old Eliezer Benjamin Reyes, police say.

At about 12:17 a.m. the Reyes and two others were walking along the 2200 block of Sheridan Street with two others when a suspect fired at the group from a car, according to police.

Wednesday afternoon, police said 14-year-old Reyes later died. The other male who was shot was in serious condition still alive.

Police say two from the group are documented gang members and believe the shooting is gang related.

Police arrested Jose Rodriguez-Nuez, who faces murder charges.

The car used during the shooting has been recovered but police continue to investigate.
