(WUSA) - With the clock running out, Alfred Morris ran for a first down and the Washington Redskins finished the night with a 17-16 win over the New York Giants.
The win moves Washington to just one game behind New York in the NFC East.
The Redskins' victory was hard-won. Early highlights included Alfred Morris going over 1,000 yards on the season. RGIII had a fumble that was recovered by Joshua Morgan who ran it in for 15 yards for a TD.
Washington led at the start of the second quarter, 7-3.
The Giants returned in the second quarter as Eli Manning connected with an open Martellus Bennett in the endzone to take the lead, 10-7.
In the fourth quarter, the Redskins led the Giants 17-16, and that was all Washington needed to prevail.
