Jacksonville, FL (Sports Network) - Jacksonville Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey
announced on Monday he will start Montell Owens at running back on Sunday
against the New York Jets.
After Rashad Jennings left with a concussion in the second quarter of Sunday's
matchup against the Bills, Owens handled the responsibilities for the rest of
the game. He finished with 29 yards on seven carries and hauled in one pass
for 11 yards.
Owens, a seven-year veteran, has spent his entire career with the club but has
seen limited action, rushing for just 112 yards and two touchdowns on 21
carries.
Mularkey also mentioned that top running back Maurice Jones-Drew will be
questionable for the game. He has not played since injuring his foot in an
Oct. 21 contest against the Raiders.
