ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA) -- An Alexandria, Virginia man won $1 million in the November 27 Mega Millions drawing by using Megaplier, according to Virginia Lottery officials.
Lionel Miller won the million bucks by matching the first five numbers. That luck would normally win $250,000, but Miller had spent an extra dollar for the "Megaplier" to increase his prize four fold.
His winning numbers 5-12-26-42-49 and his Mega Ball 24.
Miller, a retired federal employee, reportedly bought his ticket at Safeway, 7451 Mt. Vernon Square, Alexandria.
The store itself receives a $10,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the ticket.
