BALTIMORE (WUSA/AP) -- One person is in custody after a football player was shot on the campus of Morgan State University, according to WJZ.
The school had posted an alert on its website on Friday afternoon, saying that "an emergency condition exists" and instructing people on campus to remain indoors.
Baltimore City Police, who recovered a weapon from the scene, say that the football player was shot at about 1 p.m. in the 1700-block of East Cold Spring Lane, which runs through part of the school's campus.
A Morgan State spokesman said there was a dispute between victim and suspect before the shooting. No charges have been filed yet. Police say witnesses have been taken in for questioning.
The man's injuries are not expected to be fatal.
It is unclear whether the suspect is a student.
In September, a shooting at the campus' student center injured one person who was not a student. A suspect was later arrested in that incident.
Morgan State is a historically black university with an enrollment of about 6,000.
