New York, NY (Sports Network) - Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson,
Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller and Baltimore Ravens return specialist
Jacoby Jones have been selected as the AFC's top players for the month of
November.
Johnson picked up the offensive award for the second time in his career after
leading the league with 35 catches for the month. He added 614 receiving yards
and one touchdown in helping Houston to a 4-0 mark.
The lone touchdown was an overtime winner against Jacksonville in Week 11,
capping a career-best 14 receptions for 273 yards in the 43-37 victory. He
followed with 188 yards just days later on Thanksgiving in another overtime
victory over Detroit, and the 461 combined receiving yards were the most for a
two-game span in NFL history.
Miller earned the defensive honor after registering 20 tackles, eight sacks
and three forced fumbles, leading a Denver unit that helped the Broncos to a
4-0 mark in November. He had a pair of six-tackle, three-sack performances
during the month.
Jones garnered the special teams award thanks to a pair of return touchdowns
in Baltimore's 4-0 month. He had a 105-yard kickoff return in a Week 10 rout
of Oakland, then followed with a 63-yard punt return for a score a week later
to give Baltimore its lone touchdown in a 13-10 win over Pittsburgh.
