FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- A Fairfax, Va. man was arrested on Wednesday for a hit and run that injured a pedestrian in June.
Thirty-five-year-old Leon Andrew D. Oliveira is accused of driving the car that was traveling east on Fairfax Boulevard at Warwick Avenue and left the roadway, hitting a 33-year-old man who was walking on the sidewalk on June 15 at 10:40 p.m. The car continued without stopping.
Police released a photo taken by cameras on the street in hopes people would provide information about the crash. After following leads, investigators identified the car and suspected driver. They met with Oliveira on Wednesday at police headquarters and placed him under arrest for felony hit and run. Oliveira's bond is set at $2500.
The pedestrian struck remains under medical treatment, say police.
