ODENTON, Md. (WUSA) -- Authorities are looking for a driver who fled the scene of a fatal accident on foot on Sunday in Odenton, Md.
According to Anne Arundel County Police, two cars crashed in the 1100 block of Annapolis Road at approximately 8:18 p.m.
Investigators' evidence suggests a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on Annapolis Road when a Lexus 430 pulled out of a parking lot and into the path of the Chevrolet. The two vehicles collided and the Lexus 430 came to rest in the grassy area on the south side of the road. The Chevrolet spun and struck a telephone pole before stopping on the south edge of the roadway, according to police.
The Chevrolet driver then got out of the car and fled, without trying to help the other driver, say police. Witnesses said that the driver was a white female with brown hair who was wearing a pink tank top and jeans. Police are still looking for the driver.
Paramedics transported the Lexus driver, 27-year-old Tori Danielle Stitely, to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. She later died at the hospital.
Investigators say that the cause of the crash appears to be that the Lexus failed to yield the right of way to the Chevrolet.
Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call Anne Arundel County Police Department's Traffic Safety Section at 410-222-8573.
