Reports: Potomac Traffic Jam Caused By Movie Filming

POTOMAC, Md. (WUSA) -- Thursday morning, we learned from authorities that traffic slowed down at River and Norton Roads in Potomac when drivers tried to watch BBC filming a movie. County spokeperson Lucille Baur didn't know which movie was filming but said that officers went out to try to assist with the flow of traffic and help people get out of a driveway.

The Potomac Patch reports that the movie being filmed there is "Philomena," starring Judi Dench ( 9News crews went to the scene on Thursday and found the filming taking place inside a church. The Almanac reports that the Philomena crew filmed in D.C. at the Lincoln Memorial before moving to the St. Paul Community Church in Poolesville.

Baur told 9News that the BBC will be working at the same River Road location on Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Shooting is also scheduled on MacArthur Boulevard and Falls Road on Friday.
