WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Two serious accidents created some traffic delays on Monday morning. 

A two-mile backup followed a multi-vehicle crash on Baltimore Washington Parkway North near Route 197. Traffic was getting by to the right side.

On I-495 north at American Legion Bridge, there was an accident on the right side.
