GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA) -- Gaithersburg police say they have arrested a second suspect in the robbery of a man outside his home, after the suspect fled Maryland and then returned to the state.
Twenty-five-year-old Keishawn Pettaway of Gaithersburg has been charged with armed robbery, use of a firearm, first degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft less than $1000, conspiracy to commit an armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit theft.
Police say on Dec. 30, 2011, a man entering his home on North Summit Avenue was approached by a black male with a semi-automatic handgun, who demanded his wallet. The robber got the wallet and fled on foot. The robbery got into a blue vehicle.
While investigating, police identified Pettaway as a second suspect and when they went to find him they discovered he had fled Maryland. Law enforcement officials later determined Pettaway came back to Maryland and he was located.
He is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center.
