(WUSA) -- Howard County police say a 42-year-old man was arrested and charged for allegedly installing a video camera in the home of two women and secretly videotaping them in their bedrooms and bathroom. The women discovered the camera after a few months and gave it to police.
Forty-two-year old Michael Stephen McKenny was charged Thursday night with burglary, visual surveillance with prurient intent and videotaping a person in a private residence without consent. Police say he was identified as the suspect after numerous tips from people who had seen the video of the suspect released by the police department.
According to police, McKenny stole and copied a key to the condo in the 8300 block of Montgomery Run Road in Ellicott City. He then allegedly used the key to get into the women's home. Police say video suggests the camera was installed in late June in one bedroom. McKenny later moved the camera multiple times of the next few months to record the other women's bedroom and the bathroom. According to police, he usually entered the condo during the day.
Police also say the footage from the camera contained images of two other women in another residential bathroom. These images were unrelated to the condo incident. Police say they have identified these women and are in the process of notifying them.
Police want anyone else who may have been recorded or anyone with additional information to call them at 410-313-3200.
McKenny is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond.
