FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (WUSA) -- Frederick County authorities say a 12-year-old boy accident shot his father with a rifle on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened on a farm in northern Frederick County, according to authorities. No exact location were given because the incident involves a minor.
Authorities say that the boy was shooting a 22 rifle outside when a bullet ricocheted off a truck and struck his 48-year-old father in the chest.
The father was flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He is still receiving treatment there.
No charges are expected in the incident, say authorities.
