Florham Park, NJ (Sports Network) - New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis
will undergo surgery Tuesday to have his torn left ACL repaired.
Revis was hurt during a Week 3 game against Miami and was finally placed on
season-ending injured reserve last Friday.
The All-Pro made his first public statements since the injury on Monday and
said he wants to return "as fast as possible." The Jets had initially
hesitated to put him on IR in hopes that he could come back very late in the
season or in the postseason.
"As soon as I feel 100 percent, I'll be ready to go whether that's January,
February, March, it doesn't matter," Revis said at a press conference Monday.
"I'm a confident player. I never had an injury like this. This is all new for
me as well. But, yeah, I'm a hard worker. I know I'm going to work my butt off
and get back to where I need to be."
Revis played in just two games this season. He suffered a mild concussion in
the season opener against the Buffalo Bills and sat out the Week 2 loss to the
Pittsburgh Steelers before returning against the Dolphins.
