HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WUSA) -- Howard County Police are asking for help from the public in their search for a missing elderly man.
Police say Charles Turner's family reported him missing around 9:30 Sunday night. He was last seen by a family member around 4:00 p.m. when he left his house in the 8800 block of Bosley Road in Ellicott City. Mr. Turner claimed he would be right back, but has yet to return home.
According to police, Turner is 5' 11" tall, 210 pounds, and bald. When he left his home he was wearing khaki pants, a navy t-shirt, and a burgundy sweater. Mr. Turner drives a light green 2005 Lexus SUV with Maryland tags DV3482. Police say he was last seen driving the SUV around 10:00 p.m. Sunday near Route 32 in Ft. Meade, Anne Arundel County.
Police are especially concerned about Mr. Turner's welfare because he has been diagnosed with dementia and he doesn't usually drive at night. Mr. Turner does not have a cell phone and needs to take multiple medications. Howard County Police have issued a Silver Alert to expedite locating Charles Turner. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact 911.
