WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority announced its findings of an independent investigation involving a bad real estate deal.

It accuses former WMATA board member and current Council Member Jim Graham of ethics violations.

It alleges Graham would support a developer on a project as city council member if it pulled out of a Metro development project on 7th and Florida Avenue. Graham was a sitting WMATA board member at the time between 2008-2010.

WMATA retained a law firm (Cadwalader, Wichersham and Taft) to conduct a four-month long independent investigation.
WMATA board members say they now will strengthen its code of ethics.
