GLENWOOD, Md. (WUSA) -- Sky 9 flew over the new Glenwood Fire Station on Monday morning.
The new station is located on Carrs Mill Road with access to Routes 97 and 70.
According to fire officials, the environmentally friendly station is also the first entirely new fire station in the county since 1994.
The station includes three drive-thru apparatus bays, sleeping quarters for eight, a physical fitness training room, kitchen, dining room, general use room and administrative offices. It earned its "green" status thanks to "extensive energy efficient strategies," according to a press release.
The ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the new station was held on Monday morning.
