Demarco Campbell, 18, of Bryans Road in Charles County, has been arrested for his involvement in the armed robbery of a young adult at a Facebook Meet-Up, police announced

CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (WUSA) -- Demarco Campbell, 18, of Bryans Road in Charles County, has been arrested for his involvement in the armed robbery of a young adult, police announced.

According to police, the victim agreed to meet up with someone on September 5 who had posted about selling shoes on Facebook.  When the victim arrived at the agreed meeting point on Kings Way Drive in White Plains, a random man ran up to the victim displaying a gun, and then took the victim's money.  That suspect then left the scene with the person who had reportedly met with the victim about the shoes.  The victim then called the police.

Shortly after detectives identified the person selling the shoes as a 15-year-old male of Bryans Road.  This person set up the robbery, according to police, and he was arrested on September 14. 

Campbell was then identified as the gunman and he was arrested on October 3.

Both suspects have been charged with armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, use of a firearm in commission of a violent crime, illegally carrying a handgun and theft.
