TAUNTON, Mass. (USA TODAY) -- A white female poodle that was hit by a Toyota sedan
on a Massachusetts highway went on a wild 11-mile ride inside the car's
grill until a passing motorist pointed out the "passenger" to the
unwitting driver, the Taunton Daily Gazette reports.
The East Providence Animal Control Center in Rhode Island is now looking for the dog's owner.
William
Muggle, the center's animal control supervisor, tells the newspaper
that the car was traveling about 50 mph near Taunton, Mass., two weeks
ago when the dog ran into the road.
The driver says he hit the brakes, but didn't see the dog anywhere and drove on.
It was until the driver stopped at a light in East Providence that another driver spotted the poodle and alerted him.
Muggle tells The Gazette
that the dog suffered a concussion and possibly a minor rupture of the
bladder, which has healed, but is "actually doing fine, crazy enough."
