(WUSA/WTVR) -- Virginia State Police want you to call them if you know anything about a man and woman wanted in connection with an abduction and carjacking in Caroline County.
According to state police, Cheryl Ruedi and Trent Brooks fled the scene of an accident at the intersection of Route 1 and Marye Road on Saturday after Ruedi failed to stop for a stop sign and was hit by another vehicle. According to state police, three people were injured and while a trooper was tending to them, Ruedi and her backseat passenger, Trent Brooks, fled.
Witnesses told police they saw the pair getting into a nearby pickup truck. They reportedly told the male driver that they had a gun and told him to drive them away. About a mile later, they instructed him to stop the car, and they jumped out of the truck and ran off into the woods.
Cheryl Ruedi is 22 years old and from Spotsylvania, Va. She is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 125 pounds with green eyes and brown hair. She faces charges, including felony hit and run, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving and failure to obey a highway sign. We are told Ruedi is wanted by the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office for grand larceny of a stolen vehicle.
Twenty-year-old Trent Brooks is also from Spotsylvania. He is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 7inches tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He faces charges including abduction, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, carjacking, hit and run, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm with an active protective order, brandishing a firearm, and assault. Brooks is wanted by the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office for assault on a family member.
