SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WUSA) -- The plane crash that killed a local pilot and his 13-year-old son could have resulted in more casualties on the ground.

The single engine Cessna crashed into a Spotsylvania County mobile home park but the pilot managed to avoid hitting any homes.

9News reporter Armando Trull reports from the scene and says at the time of the crash children where playing outside just feet from the accident.
