CHANTILLY, Va. (WUSA) -- Two knives were found in a woman's carry-on baggage at Dulles International Airport on Thursday, Transportation Security Administration officers said.
The TSA officers found a switchblade and a boot-knife in the lining of the bottom on her carry-on bag.
"The knives were confiscated and the woman was charged with a Virginia Class 1 Misdemeanor (carrying a dangerous article in the airport) by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, who regularly patrol the airport," TSA officials said in a news release.
The woman who was charged with carrying the knives was allowed to continue onto her flight to Beijing, China.
The airport was not delayed as a result of the incident, TSA officers said.
"As a reminder, weapons-which includes knives--are not permitted in carry-on baggage. TSA also reminds passengers that they are responsible for the contents of bags they bring to the security checkpoint," officials said.
