Erica joins W*USA from WTNH in New Haven, Connecticut. At WTNH, Erica tracked Tropical Storm Irene as it destroyed homes along the Connecticut shoreline, and covered the October 2011 snowstorm that left more than 1 million people in that state without power. Erica also spent 3 years as a Meteorologist/Reporter at WPVI in Philadelphia, and she began her forecasting career in Midland, TX and Harrisburg, PA.
Erica was born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania, and graduated from Penn State University in 2002 with a degree in Meteorology. In 2012, she earned the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society. The CBM is the highest level of distinction in the field of broadcast meteorology. Erica considers herself a scientist at heart, and loves nothing more than sharing her passion for weather and science with others. She has volunteered for the Franklin Institute Science Museum in Philadelphia, and has spoken to thousands of schoolchildren of all ages about the amazing science of weather. She is also a STEM mentor (Science, Technology, Education and Math) through the National Girls Collaborative Project.
In her free time, Erica loves spending time outdoors, watching football and baseball, and spending time with her adopted Golden Retriever mix, Twango.
