Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - The New England Patriots have signed tight end
Kellen Winslow on Tuesday in the wake of the injury to Aaron Hernandez.
While the team has not confirmed the signing, Winslow's agent, Denise White,
said on her Twitter..."Congrats to our client @KellenWinslowJr for signing
with the Patriots!!!"
Several sites are reporting that Hernandez will miss the next four to six
weeks with a low ankle sprain he suffered in Sunday's loss to Arizona.
Hernandez had six catches for 59 yards and a score in the season opener after
a 2011 season that saw he total 79 catches for 910 yards and seven touchdowns.
Winslow is an eight-year veteran and last year with Tampa Bay he totaled 75
catches for 763 yards and two touchdowns in all 16 games. He has 437 catches
for 4,836 yards and 23 scores in 92 games with Tampa Bay and Cleveland in his
career.
