Dominion Virginia Power Worker Injured In Transformer Mishap

MT. VERNON, Va. (WUSA) - A Dominion Virginia Power contract worker was injured while working on some wires Tuesday afternoon, according to a spokesman for Fairfax County Police.

He said that the worker was in a bucket truck at in the 3500 block of Rolling Hills Avenue at about 2:10 when a transformer blew, which caused him to fall from the truck.

The spokesman said the worker suffered some minor burns when the transformer blew, and was taken to the burn unit of Washington Hospital Center to be treated for burns and injuries suffered in the fall.

Fairfax County authorities are working in cooperation with OSHA to investigate the accident, according to the police spokesman.
