Alameda, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Raiders reduced their roster to the mandated 53-man limit on Friday by waiving or releasing 18 players and placing linebacker Aaron Curry on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.

Oakland also put veteran tight end Tory Humphrey (hamstring) on injured reserve along with punter Marquette King (toe) and safety Brandon Underwood (hip/groin).

Curry, the No. 4 overall pick by Seattle in the 2009 draft, has been sidelined for all of training camp and the preseason with recurring knee problems. The two-time Butkus Award winner at Wake Forest, slated to be the Raiders' starting weakside linebacker this season, will be ineligible to resuming practicing for the first six weeks of the 2012 campaign under the PUP rules.

The 26-year-old was acquired by the Raiders from the Seahawks last October in exchange for a 2012 seventh-round pick and a conditional 2013 draft choice and started nine games following the trade, recording 46 tackles and three passes defensed.

The most notable member of Oakland's roster cuts was wide receiver Roscoe Parrish. The eight-year pro had just been signed by the club on Tuesday after being released by San Diego.

Parrish spent his first seven seasons with Buffalo and tallied a career-best 33 catches in 2010. He missed all but two games last season due to injury and signed with the Chargers in April.

The Raiders also waived linebackers Kaelin Burnett, Chad Kilgore and Nathan Stupar, kicker Eddy Carmona, wide receivers Derek Carrier, Brandon Carswell, Eddie McGee and Travionte Session, defensive end Hall Davis, tight end Kyle Efaw, defensive lineman Dominique Hamilton, offensive linemen Kevin Haslam, Nick Howell and Dan Knapp, center Colin Miller, running back Lonyae Miller and safety Curtis Taylor.

Stupar was a seventh-round pick by Oakland in the 2012 draft out of Penn State.
