STAFFORD, Va. (WUSA) -- Stafford County Sheriff's Office officials say that human skeletal remains found in the wooded area near the northbound 140 off ramp exit of Interstate 95 had been there for at least a year.
The remains were found on August 16.
An autopsy indicates the body belonged to a woman between the ages of 25 and 40.
Detectives are treating the incident as a suspicious death "because of evidence found at the scene" but they are not sharing what evidence they found because they are still investigating.
