Police Investigate Double Shooting In Northwest DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- DC Police are trying to figure out what led to an overnight shooting in Northwest that sent two men to the hospital.

Police tell 9 NEWS NOW the shooting occurred shortly after 2:00 Tuesday morning in the 2900 block of Sherman Avenue. Officers arrived on the scene where they found two men suffering from gun shot wounds. One of the men had been struck in the chest, the other had been wounded in the arm. Both victims were taken to a local hospital where they are expected to recover.

One suspect was taken into custody by police a short distance from where the shooting occurred. So far police are not calling the shooting a closed case, however lookout information has not been released on any other possible suspects.
