MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (WUSA) -- Montgomery County Police are looking for a man and a woman they say have received more than $10,000 from passing fraudulent checks at banks. Police say the pair received that amount between June 6 and June 11.
According to authorities, the suspects illegally obtained business account information and then used it to create counterfeit business checks. They then allegedly passed the fraudulent checks at banks and gotten cash.
Police have released photos of the suspects.
The male suspect is described as African-American, with a medium build. In the photo, the male suspect is wearing long cornrows or dreads and has a goatee. He is also wearing glasses.
The female suspect is described as African-American, with a medium build. She has a Mohawk.
Financial Crimes Detectives are asking that anyone who recognizes the suspects to call them at 240-773-6330 or Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or 240-773-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000.
