Michael Angelo Jones Arrested After Allegedly Running From Traffic Stop; Charged With Eluding, Etc.

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA) -- Friday morning, a man fled during a traffic stop in Frederick, police say, and now he faces 5 charges.

According to Frederick police, at approximately 2:02 a.m., an officer tried to pull over a vehicle for not stopping at a stop sign at West 2nd Street and West College Terrace. 

Police say the officer was in the process of checking Michael Angelo Jones' driving status through his computer when Jones reportedly got out of his car and fled on foot.

The officer chased after him and eventually found Jones in a backyard.

Jones is now charged with fleeing and eluding, driving on a suspended license, driving on a revoked license, driving vehicle wrong way on one-way street and driver fail to stop at stop sign.
