WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Here's some sobering news.
According to one advocacy group the annual cost for child care exceeded rent payments in all 50 states.
Child Care Aware of America reports that infant care increased roughly two percent last year. Those cost doubled to four percent to enroll a four year old into center-based care.
The study shows costs to care for an infant in the Washington area ranged from $10,670 to $20,178.
