MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA) -- A 19-year-old man is charged after a 2-year-old boy reportedly discovered a BB gun in a bedroom and accidentally shot himself in the foot.
Prince William County police say the shooting happened on August 10 in the 7500 block of Quail Run Ln in Manassas. The boy was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Detectives later determined that the bedroom was Antawan Antonio Campbell's and that he had left several BB guns out on his bed.
Campbell was arrested and charged with child abuse and neglect. He has been released on personal recognizance.
