WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) - A female pedestrian was struck by a Metrobus at the intersection of Wisconsin Ave. and Jenifer St. NW at about 7:20 on Monday evening.
9News photographer James Hash was on the scene and reports that the 21-year-old victim was conscious, alert and breathing when treated and transported to a hospital.
Metro reports that there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the accident. The bus was on its way back to the garage. Early investigation shows that the bus was making a left turn onto Jenifer St. and had a green turn arrow when it hit the pedestrian.
The accident is still under investigation.
