BOONSBORO, Md. (AP) - An 84-year-old woman is at Shock Trauma and criminal charges have been filed stemming from her one-story fall at a Boonsboro elder-care facility.
Maryland State Police said Monday that Eileen Rindone was transferred over the weekend to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma unit in Baltimore from Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
They say she suffered a head injury and several broken bones in the incident Thursday at Soma Manor Assisted Living.
Owner Dickson Tabi is charged with reckless endangerment and abuse or neglect of a vulnerable adult. He was released on $20,000 bond after his arrest Saturday.
Police say Tabi acknowledged that Rindone fell through a hole in a second-floor room under renovation. Troopers say she stepped between two floor joists and fell to the first floor.
