WASHINGTON,D.C. (WUSA) -- With with the presidential election now only 90 days away, CBS News estimates that only 135 electoral votes of the 270 needed to win are still in play, creating a battleground of 11 states that could go either way
The news organization estimates that currently 212 electoral votes are likely for or leaning toward President Obama and that 191 electoral votes are likely for or leaning to former Governor Romney.
CBS believes the 11 states still in play are Virginia, Nevada, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Florida.
New poll results Wednesday shows President Barack Obama leading by four points in Virginia, and leading by six points in Wisconsin.
Mitt Romney leads in that new poll by five points in Colorado, which President Obama won convincingly in 2008.
The poll also shows a clear gender gap with Mr. Obama leading among women, and with Mr. Romney leading among men.
