STERLING, Va. (WUSA) -- An 18-year-old Sterling man was arrested after he allegedly discharged a pellet gun and damaged a window of a home on Tuesday night.

Loudoun County Sheriff's Department authorities say 18-year-old Lance M. Stephenson was arrested and charged with shooting at an occupied dwelling after a resident of a home on Environs Road saw a vehicle leaving the area and discovered damage to a window.

Authorities say their investigation revealed that Stephenson had discharged the pellet gun and a shot hit the window.

Stephenson was released by a Loudoun magistrate on a personal recognizance bond.
