TEMPLE HILLS, Md. (WUSA) -- The Prince George's County Police Department has arrested 18-year-old Darrell Sales of Fort Washington, Md. for shooting and killing 18-year-old Anthony Boatwright early Monday morning in Temple Hills.
Twitter exploded Monday in the D.C. area about the death of Boatwright, also known as "AROD", who reportedly played keyboard in the band "Heavy Impact."
According to Prince George's County Police authorities, four men were walking along the 5000 block of Temple Hills Road shortly after midnight when they were approached by a man who then attempted to rob them. One person at the scene said that the man specifically wanted one of the men's shoes.
A fight broke out between the group and Sales but Sales was able to break free and pull out a gun. He then fatally shot Boatwright and fled the scene.
Sales has been charged with second degree murder.
