WALKERSVILLE, Md. (WUSA) --  A man faces multiple charges after allegedly entering a home in Walkersville and attacking residents with a long bladed knife and a machete on Thursday morning.

According to Frederick County Sheriff's Office authorities, a man fled the home on Revelation Avenue around 10 a.m. Thursday to notify authorities that a man had entered the home and assaulted the people inside. He told authorities that a woman appeared to bleeding. Authorities were also told that the two women residents had not come out of the home with him.

Negotiators then reportedly attempted to contact people inside the home but were not successful. Special services team members arrived on the scene and then searched inside for the suspect. They found the two women and the suspect. According to authorities, one woman had minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

In the end, William Henry Sawyer, IV was charged with two counts of first degree assault, two counts of second degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, and first degree burglary.

Sawyer is being held on $125,000 bond.

It is unknown what prompted the attack.
