ASHBURN, Va. (WUSA) -- The Loudoun Sheriff's Office is reporting that a woman who was injured in a crash on July 21 on Route 659 has died.
According to authorities, on Thursday 62-year-old Jhansi L. Bellapu of Ashburn succumbed to injuries she sustained in the crash. Bellapu was a passenger in a 2008 Lexus sedan that crossed the double yellow line and hit a 2006 Honda Pilot headed southbound on Route 659, south of Luck Lane.
Bellapu was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital but the driver of the Lexus and a three-year-old boy were reportedly not hurt. The driver has been charged with reckless driving.
The driver and two passengers from the Honda suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.
