ATLANTA (WXIA) -- A Georgia teen went under the knife in hopes of putting an end to the bullying she says she's endured for years.
11Alive's Stacey Elgin spoke with the 14-year-old who flew to New York to get her $40,000 worth of plastic surgery. Nadia said that she was constantly bullied and called "Elephant Ears" and Dumbo." At age 10, she asked her mom for surgery to have her ears pinned back, but they could not afford the surgery. Her mom later found the Little Baby Face Foundation and was able to have the surgery.
Nadia says she will be forever grateful to the Little Baby Face Foundation, because it changed her life. Six weeks after the surgery, Nadia says she likes what she sees in the mirror and is looking forward to her freshman year in school.
She wishes she could have done the surgery sooner.
As for why a parent would let her child have plastic surgery, Nadia's mom says that she thought her daughter was beautiful before the surgery and now but says the decision ultimately belonged to Nadia.
