WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- D.C. police say 62-year-old Darryl Eugene Sweet Sr., who was found unconscious earlier this week, was victim of a homicide.
On July 26 at about 10:06 p.m. D.C. Fire and EMS responded to a call of an intoxicated male at the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast. Upon arrival, officials found Sweet unconscious and unresponsive. He was immediately transported to the hospital but died the following day from an internal wound to the head.
An autopsy was performed, and Sweet's death was ruled a homicide by blunt force trauma to the head.
