SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA) - A 67-year-old man has been charged with attempted second degree murder for stabbing another man during an argument inside a Silver Spring post office.
Montgomery County police say the dispute happened Thursday afternoon at a post office on New Hampshire Avenue. The argument may have stemmed over cutting in line.
Police say a female post office employee used pepper spray to subdue the suspect, who was later taken into custody. He has been identified as Ray Alfred Young. In addition to the attempted second degree murder charge, he is charged with first degree assault, second degree assault, and concealing a dangerous weapon.
Young is being held on bond. He is scheduled for a bond review hearing on Friday afternoon.
The stabbing victim is expected to survive.
